We finally got our student IDs and were able to enter the Canterbury Cathedral! We spent two days exploring the cathedral because it was just so HUGE! Walking into the cathedral was literally insane. I cannot believe places like that exist! I am not a super religious person, but when I was in that cathedral, I could definitely feel the presence of the history and the reverence people have shown for hundreds of years in this church. I will definitely make a plan to go back for a service sometime. It was also breathtaking to see the spot where Thomas Beckett was murdered in the church. The first day I mistakenly walked past it, and later that day I watched a documentary about his murder then went back through my photos and realized I had a picture of the spot on the side of the frame. Oh I was so upset! We went back the next day and I took some full on shots of the spot; I included one on the bottom of this post. The history of this place is just absolutely indescribable! I haven't even been outside Canterbury yet! We got our train passes (?) yesterday so we get discounts on train journeys so I cannot wait to go to London!
