The Crab and Winkle Walk to Whitstable

Hello everyone!

There was an international tea party on friday and I got to meet up with some other international students, and the lot of us decided to walk 7 miles on the Crab and Winkle trail to get to the coast of England. The walk was so much fun; the views were stunning and everyone who went with us was so nice! There were 3 of us from the US, one girl from Canada, one girl from France, two girls from Italy and one girl from Spain! We all had so much to talk about and enjoy and overall, I am so glad I went. I am attatching pictures here too!

Classes here are a lot different than they are in the US; classes here are 3 hours long with a coffee break or two in between and there is a WHOLE lot of readings when you don't have class. There is not a ton of tedious homework but one long essay due at the end of the year that you should start on as soon as you can. I still love it here; I can feel small bouts of homesickness creeping in but it hasn't been unbearable and I am just excited to see what happens next! My hope for tomorrow is to get on a bus and just go somewhere new for the day; maybe I will go to Dover? It is pretty liberating being able to decide that for myself. The things I am nervous to try are buying a train ticket because I have a railcard and I don't know when to present that; we don't have trains where I'm from in Illinois; I have ridden the Amtrak twice but that was easy; here it seems more complicated. The thing I am also nervous about that I will attempt tomorrow is mailing something in the post. I am not sure why I am nervous, but I am. Probably because I know there will be a hefty price tag involved! I love the food over here; it is much better than in the states; I feel that I am really staring to establish a routine; my worry is that I will stay in my homestay too much though! I really have to start getting out lol.

Overall the people in the states who claim it rains all the time here are liars. It has maybe sprinkled twice since I've been over here and until recently, its been warmer here than in the states.

Until next time!
