Stockholm, Sweden

I spent 4 days in Stockholm, and this is what I have learned.

Fireball is fantastic; the old town is where you want to visit/ stay in if you want that picturesque place to look at and take pictures of; other parts of the city on other islands are not as nice to look at in my opinion. The Chai lattes there are ridiculously good; you should totally get one! Remember that they really do not do 'to go' things; even for drinks. There are a lot of cafes and bakeries and malls around and you should totally check them out. Please order cinnamon buns and princess cake for me! It is a good experience to try to find a typical grocery store like Coop and wander around to figure out what things they sell that are similar to what you know and it also helps you understand the language a little better. Do pack a light jacket; but if you go in April it is not really too bad in Stockholm, but I do love the cold so take that with a grain of salt. There are also a lot of bars in Stockholm and you should totally go to the viking bar in Old town, it is really fun and they sell really good mead. The nobel prize museum is very interesting; but if I was going to do it again I would make sure to be there over a weekend so I could take a tour of their parliament building. Seeing all the palaces were really cool; there was apparently a 3 hour long walking tour that was very informative that I did not go on because I slept; but I heard really good things about it. The people in stockholm were all very nice and overall, I had a really nice time there. I was disappointed that I did not get to see the northern lights, but based on the fact I was in a big city and because I was there in April, I knew it was a long shot. However it did snow while we were there! It was easy to figure out how to get from the airport to Stockholm because there is a direct train there called the Arlanda Express. The maps app on iphone is fantastic because it keeps up very well with all public transportation times and when you are walking, it tells you what direction you are facing so you don't go the wrong way. They have a different kind of sugar there that they sprinkle on top of things like cinnamon buns that is really good. I want to go back to Stockholm but for a longer period of time; but I also want to go more north so I could possibly see the northern lights and the midnight sun.
