London, The Rosetta Stone, and Dover

Here I am again! I went to London by myself to see the Rosetta stone at the British Museum; it was really amazing to see something to famous in person! I did not know that the Rosetta stone had 3 languages written on it, and that it was incomplete; the rest of the slab had disintegrated with time and rough handeling and that the iconic shape was all that was left. We went to the East end of London for my Sights and Sites class, and it was different from the west end for sure. Less white buildings; more bricks, but the food was so much better on the east end because that was where the immagrants tended to migrate to and open stores/restauraunts. We went to the Spitalfield market which was cool to see, but it was pretty expensive to buy stuff from those booths! Then, on the way home, me and two friends made plans to go to Dover on Saturday. It was amazing! The town of Dover really does not have a lot to do; no fairs or interesing places I wanted to try out. We walked up to Dover Castle and asked for directions on how to get to the top of the Cliffs and we had quite the journey! First, we stopped at The White Horse pub, which is a pub with writing all over the walls from swimmers who have successfully swam the English Channel from England to France. Then we made our way to the Cliffs. There were a lot of steep stairs and sharp inclines, but it was sooooo worth it! The view is very hard to describe; the pictures do not do it justice because they are in 2d. You cannot understand the scale of the landscape and the cliffs unless you see them yourself. Please plan a day to hike the dover cliffs! There were free roaming cows that were really cool to see up close, and while my feet are killing me now, I am so glad I went. Now that I have gone to a new place by bus (Dover) I feel more confident than ever that I can go traveling to see more and experience more.
