Going to Tower of London, Bodiam Castle and Battle Abbey

Going to all of these fantastic places is so amazing and so fun! Oh my gosh there are a million stairs, though. Last thursday, my teacher was diagnosed with COVID, so naturally class got cancelled and I decided to go back to London and finally go see the Tower of London. I was able to see the top of the tower without buying a ticket but I did buy the ticket to see the whole tower. When I walked in and actually saw it, I am not ashamed to say I started crying a little bit. Seeing such a huge piece of English history, it really hit me that I am in England and just how much I am enjoying it. It was such a nice day as well; and I finally got to see the funny guards who stand really still and yell at tourists when they are marching around. Then on friday we went on another field trip to see Bodiam Castle and Battle Abbey; Bodiam Castle is the exact kind of castle that Americans and romantic people think of when they imagine a castle; a symmetrical castle with a big moat and turrets and things like that surrounded by pretty fields; however it was crumbling on the inside. Next, we saw Battle Abbey which I loved; I have always been obsessed with The Battle of Hastings in 1066 because it changed European history and the English language forever so to see the actual battlefield and how pretty it is now was monumental to me. Overall, it is utterly crazy to me that all of these things I have been looking into for years happened on the ground I am standing on now. Also, I have finally and officially booked my spring break trip! The school gives us two weeks off for spring break and my flights and hotels are all booked! Me and two friends are going to Stockholm, Rome, Granada, and Paris. We will be exhausted in the end but the experience will be so much fun!
