We had the study abroad orientation over the weekend, and I learned a lot more about my trip and what it is going to entail. I feel much more certain about a lot of details about my trip and am excited to start planning trips to other places all over Europe! I also got to meet the other students coming with me, and everyone seems very fun. I am very reassured by the fact that we will all be on the same plane and with a liaison who will support and show us where to go. Even better, my parents and those who worry feel a lot better after the orientation as well; so it was a win-win. The only existing issue now is that it seems like some of my classes keep having to be changed and switched around and I am still struggling with this. Turns out they register for classes and assign classes a lot differently than we do here! Instead of here, where there is a definite room and time for a class and there is the possibility of a class becoming full, in England they let people register for classes, look at how many people registered for a class and depending on that they assign a room and time for each class, meaning that you only find out your schedule the day before ish classes start. Not only that but coordinating all the classes I want to take is crazy because I need to make sure Parkland accepts the credit, that ICISP knows which classes I am taking, and then register for the class at CCCU. As exhausting as this all sounds, everyone has been super helpful and as soon as we realized this, we could all work together to get it all sorted. However I have the flight booked, the payment made and all the forms submitted! Doing this and completing the orientation is really making it feel real; I am starting to get really excited! Looking at the pictures from the orientation like the one below is mind blowing that I will be able to see this in real life soon.
